Dynamic Thermal Simulation
Dynamic thermal modelling enables us the accurately predict the performance of a building against real weather data for the proposed site. Thermal studies help us provide a detailed, room-by-room, analysis of a building to assess and understand the comfort conditions, and energy consumption.
Thermal analysis for energy and comfort
Using advanced simulation software, we are able to investigate many energy and environmental aspects of a building. These include:
- Analysis of heating and cooling systems
- Natural and mechanical ventilation system performance
- Glazing systems and associated shading devices
- Energy consumption broken down by fuel and end-use
- Internal air, mean radiant and resultant temperatures and humidity
- Predictions against real, regional weather data
- Heat transmission through building fabric including walls, roofs, and floors, including the effects of thermal bridging
- Heat transmission resulting from infiltration and ventilation
- CO2 generation
3D Modelling
Each simulation project will create a 3D visualisation model, giving realistic rendered images of the building(s) being simulated. Models contain information on a building's geometry, construction type and materials. Some of the advantages of a 3D visualisation are:
- Site solar shading analysis can be provided for any day of the year
- Colour-coded layout images show area activities
- AVI movies and still images, including the effects of solar shading can be provided
